1 - How is Nano-Clear® different from every other coating?
Nano-Clear® Coatings are manufactured using proprietary 3D nanostructured polymers. These 3D nano scale polymer networks form the backbone of Nano-Clear® Coatings. Dynamic Mechanical Thermal Analysis (DMTA) is utilized to calculate the “cross-link density” of coating polymers. DMAT shows the extreme density in Nano-Clear® of the molecular bonds between the polymers.
This high cross-link density results in remarkable surface hardness, chemical, abrasion, corrosion and UV resistance, while providing high flexibility. Note that although the bonding between polymers is at a nano-level, no nano particles are in Nano-Clear® Coatings.
2 - What are the signs that the coating has reached the end of its service life?
Unlike many coating systems which begin to degrade in the first year (or even the first month), Nano-Clear® will retains its lustre up to 10 years. After that point, the coating will begin to lose ~4 - 6 % of its specular gloss, much less than any other coating or paint product. The corrosion protection is good to well over 15 years. Note that the slow decline in the level of gloss will be in a linear fashion over time, and not a sudden exponential drop.
3 - How does the product perform under salt spray at various temperatures (such as in moderate, tropical, arid and arctic conditions)?
Nano-Clear® products have passed multiple ATSM B117 tests for preventing harm from salt spray.
4 - Can the product be applied to wood, and would application to wood have the same service life?
Yes. Prepare the wood by: cleaning it, opening pores, and fixing any cosmetic issues. Apply solvent to clean and then apply the Nano-Clear® product. Very dry wood will typically take an extra coating. Any staining or tinting of the wood needs to be at an acceptable level before application of Nano-Clear®. The coating is good for ten years.

Clean up of surfaces coated with Nano-Clear® products involves simple soap and water. Nothing more "potent" than that is required. No harsh and potentially environmentally damaging solvents are needed. No heavy scrubbing. No expensive and time consuming processes.
Another bonus ... there is no need to regularly re-paint surfaces year after year in order to maintain the visual appeal of your assets. Apply once and, well ... check it again in another decade.
1 - Are there any specific environmental concerns to be aware of during outdoor application of the product? If there are, would the application be better performed using a wipe-on method?
Environmental laws in your area will vary. Please check with your local authorities & regulators. Many areas require the use of a spray booth. If you are in an area that allows outside application, but not spraying, then a hand application (wipe-on method) is acceptable. Also note that spraying requires the use of the proper safety equipment: mask, gloves, and paint clothes.
2 - How do I "wipe" the product onto the surface?
Be sure to clean and prepare the surface properly first. Saturate your applicator (suede micro-fiber or sponge) with the Nano-Clear® product and wipe it on; do not apply it directly to the surface before wiping. Apply the product smoothly and ensure thorough coverage of the surface area. Check the recommended waiting period if a second coat is required. 1 - Do Nano-Clear® products contain nano-particles?
No. These particles can provide marginal improvements to standard coatings, but the key to Nano-Clear’s® uniqueness is the high density bonding at a nano-level, not the inclusion of nano particles in the product.
2 - Are Nano-Clear® coatings VOC compliant?
Yes. If you are legal to spray paint, it has the same requirements and meets solids requirements.
3 - What is the most efficient and cost effective method for graffiti removal once the coating has been applied?
Spray off with water. You can use high pressure as the coating withstands over 3500 - 4000 psi.
4 - Are there any potential fuel savings and is this something that has been tested, for example with aircraft or marine vessels?
Each situation will be unique of course, but generally speaking ... yes. And this is another great benefit. Western Michigan University testing showed 50 % less drag in water. Additionally, Boeing reports show 2 - 3% fuel savings for clean jets.

2 - How small is "nano"?
In the International System of Units, the prefix "nano" means one-billionth, or 10-9; therefore one nanometer is one-billionth of a meter. It’s difficult to imagine just how small that is, so here are some examples:
A sheet of paper is about 100,000 nanometers thick
A strand of human DNA is 2.5 nanometers in diameter
There are 25,400,000 nanometers in one inch
A human hair is approximately 80,000 - 100,000 nanometers wide
A single gold atom is about a third of a nanometer in diameter
One nanometer is about as long as your fingernail grows in one second
